Typical days on your trip:
Depart on your transatlantic overnight flight to Europe connecting to Sicily.
DAY 1
Arrive in Palermo. We will gather at our hotel for a brief welcome meeting. Then we will begin our Sicilian adventure with a walking tour of Palermo’s streets and churches in the afternoon and visit the botanical garden with cool and shady haven and fascinating plants. We will end our evening getting to know one another at a “welcome to Sicily” dinner together. (D)
DAY 2
Palermo and Monreale. Visit Palazzo dei Normani with Palatine chapel, La Martorana and San Cataldo Cathedral with mass. Break for lunch. We depart to the hill-topping town of Monreale, renowned for its Arab-flavored cathedral. We will tour the cathedral’s interior of glittering, golden mosaics as well as the story-telling columns of the cloister. Depart for hotel and dinner in Palermo.(B,D)
DAY 3
Castelbuono and Cefalu. After a delicious breakfast, we depart for CastelBuono and visit Norman cathedral with mass. Then we are off to the salty fishing town of Cefalu, tucked beneath a towering cliff, for a relaxing lunch. We depart for Taormina, check-in at our hotel and join the locals for an evening walk through this beautiful city. The evening is capped with an enjoyable dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants. (B,L,D)
